Thanksgiving has come and gone, leaving its residual bloat to slowly works its way off in a frenzy of holiday shopping and naps. In houses all over the country, there’s been turkey soup, turkey enchiladas, turkey salad and 15 bazillion ways to use cranberry sauce we’ve never imagined. Just so you know, we’re gobbling over here folks.
I had considered extending my leftovers one more day, but decided to check in with theto see what they had to say about their extended run as the headliner of my refrigerator:
Leftovers can be kept for three to four days in the refrigerator. Be sure to eat them within that time. After that the the risk of food poisoning increases. If you don’t think you’ll be able to eat leftovers within four days, freeze them immediately.
Three to four days, friends. If you’re not going to eat them, then it’s time to dispose of them or freeze them. Get some good airtight containers and toss them in the freezer. Trust me, the food poisoning diet looks good on no one.
