When I think of social media and what I would like to learn, it’s actually kind of tough to look at what I would like or need to learn. I have been “connected” socially since 1996, met my husband in a chat room in 1998 and began blogging in 2002. Back then everything was rudimentary and I was an uber-nerd of the online world. Picture a Star Trek fan living in his parents basement at 40, except I was 22 and pounding the keys in my office and mom’s house. The thing is I’ve been to social media conferences where the dialogue was elementary. I’ve sat through panel on Twitter 101. I want a more advanced curriculum. I’m ready to dive in deeper and discovering new ways to keep things fresh, relevant and flowing.
That’s probably why I am excited about the 2nd annual Social Fresh social media conference in Charlotte. Attending Social Fresh would allow you to introduce me to new thinking. Fresh ideas that will add new dimensions to what I’ve been doing forever. With the keynote by Amber Naslund on the real-time revolution, Wayne Sutton with web-marketing, and monitoring and managing through the social media lifestyle, it’s a boon in my book and I can add to my expansive knowledge base.
It’s going to be the highlight of social media events this year in our region and we are lucky that it has come full circle to the Queen City again.
