I have so much blogging to do and share, however I just haven’t felt like it. Like how excited I was to attend Opera Carolina’s production of “Carmen” and what a first class production it was. To share the first days of spring starting around here and how lovely it is.
Then, life throws curveballs.
My dear friend Patrick and his wife beautiful wife Kim had their second child by emergency c-section. Rhonin is in NICU weighing in at 1lb5oz and 11″ long. Kim has had major issues with hemorrhaging and renal issues, causing her to need a system flush and short term dialysis. Rhonin is good. She was off the ventilator, but is back on it, however there is no blood on her brain. So that is a huge plus.
Fred, my endearing father-in-law, is back in the hospital. He is a type-2 diabetic who is still recovering from 2 strokes, a heart attack, triple bypass and brain stem ischemia. All in one year. Now? Diabetic foot ulcer with MRSA. Fun stuff. But, he’s being taken care of and all will be good. He may wind up with an amputation later on, but that happens.
Finally, my dear “S”. My sister-in-law’s roommate and best friend for 12 years. Sister of my heart. Diagnosed with breast cancer that is in the bones. I am aching for them. I can’t imagine what they are going through right now. I am heartbroken. While I am praying, meditating, sending good energy, love and light to them, it’s just still surreal.
How surreal? I told a friend I felt like I was in the middle of the “The Persistence of Memory” and everything around me was melting and dripping. That’s as surreal as it gets.painting
I am staying positive and I am taking action. For “S”, I am taking part in a breast cancer walk in October for her. There is the Komen 5 K and the Avon Walk which is 39.3 miles in two days. Hell, I may do both. I am going to be going from a non-exerciser to a walking fool. But it’s for her. Every foot I put in front of the other one is for “S” and I will be sending her and “M” my love with each one.
Because sometimes you just can’t tell people how much you love them, you have to do it in other ways. This is mine.
