I’m styling and profiling, but not in the Ric Flair way. Carolina Style Magazine emailed recently to let me know I had been voted one of the Queen City’s best bloggers. Time for some brutal honestly. Frankly, I was surprised. More than a little. There are some great writers here in Charlotte. I’ve been doing this a long time and thought I had fallen off the local radar. So you can imagine my shock when I opened my email to see a note from Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Carolina Style, Bridgette West.
Ric Flair would have said WOO! I don’t have that kind of chutzpah (my word of the moment) and said “really?” Because when I break it all down and look at it, it’s truly a “really” moment for me. I’ve been at this for a long time (2002) and still consider myself a learning blogger, constantly honing what I do, while developing my voice and style.
Every word in the article is all me. I sat down, wrote it cold and chose not to edit. It was pure thought, just like this is, because I wanted the people in Charlotte to have the real me. The real Lisa. I like keeping things real, not inflating who I am, what I do, etc., it’s just not who I am. I save that for fiction– because you can write anything in fiction.
This is my way of saying “thank you.” I’m honored, humbled, appreciative and very thankful for all of you. Thank you.
