I’m lazy. Most people I know will hear that and say, “What are you talking about? I don’t know how you get it all done!”. Fact of the matter is, I like getting things off of my plate and finding the best way to make sure I offer quality, so I have time to sit on my sofa and do nothing.
That’s why I’m going to changing things up around A Daily Pinch. If my friends want to know how I keep up with multiple freelance gigs; I’m bound by our creed of wine and cheese to give up the ghost and share here.
What is this great mystery? Easy. I don’t sleep.
Nah. I do sleep. I love to sleep. Sleep and I have been tight for nearly 40 years and I make sure to honor my seven hours nightly. I didn’t always follow this rule; but after a difficult year, personally and professionally, I can say that getting my sleep schedule organized is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.
Shortcuts are key. But, I don’t know if they are so much shortcuts, as they are my getting back to basics. Pinching out the time in the day to make things easier and just be. You can call it lazy if you want, I, like my friend Amy, tend to love and nurture my lazy streak.
I’ve learned taking time just for me is essential. And to be quite honest, I wasn’t sure how I was going to carve time into my schedule. But, I’ve worked at it and I can say that while I might not get an hour a day, I still manage to take a few minutes for myself. Even when my husband is on the road for two weeks or longer and I’m solo parenting.
Not to worry, I’ll still be sharing local love and other brainy thoughts, but I’ve found that I’m very passionate about helping people carve out time for themselves and I don’t want to keep this passion to myself.
