Stationery and paper stores grab my attention. Even in the digital world, I still prefer paper as my medium of choice. I’m also a firm believer in the hand-written thank you note. Minted, a global community of independent graphic designers and an online store that prints and sells the best of their designs in the form of paper goods has pushed my obsession one step further.
In this day and time of mass commercialism, I love that I can go to Minted and find unique products not available in every big box store popping up on each corner to select products that are uniquely me. I’m currently obsessed with the Minted Inspiration Boards. When I landed on the Wedding Inspiration Boards, I could do nothing but sit and sigh for what seemed to be hours. I love the careful thought the designers (and real people like me, who play at being designers) have put into each board and if I had space, would share each and every one here.
What’s great about the Inspiration boards at Minted is that it’s a community effort. They uncover great design by ongoing competition and if your design is selected to sell, you receive a portion from each sale of your product.
Personally, I’m working on creating a board for my Grandmother’s 80th birthday in April. We’re having a party for her and I can think of no better way to share ideas with my family than an Inspiration board.
