I am starting my Monday off a little differently by handing out some Local Love. My friend, Jim Mitchem, shared Boxman Studios with me months ago and I was fascinated. I am very environmentally conscious and their product made me giggle with delight! Boxman Studios is a revolutionary way to host events using the latest in recycled technology – shipping containers. That’s right, the folks over at Boxman custom fabricate these dinosaurs of logistics and outfit them with all the modern-day comforts. From seating for nearly 30 guests to a double-sided bar, solar powered electrical hookup and 500 square feet of covered outdoor space, these venues are delivered virtually anywhere. Even better? Boxman handles all the set up and break down (which takes only about 20 minutes.) Bam! – instant party. Just add people.
Really though, Boxman speaks for itself. In the very short time since their launch, they have been nominted for Opportunity Green Innovative Green Startup Award (one of 25 finalists); exhibited at Opportunity Green in Los Angeles; and is currently serving as hospitality exhibitor at the West Coast Green Conference in San Francisco (Sept. 30-Oct. 2). Boxman has been set up for tailgating at the Carolina Panthers and am anxiously awaiting the pending decision Charlotte City Council as to whether or not Boxmans mobile restaurant, LunchBox, was going to have zoning approval so that it could operate in the Uptown Charlotte area.
