I just got in from the fourth annual Runway for the Ballet at the North Carolina Dance Theater. The Mid-Winter Night’s Dream and the beautiful clothes from sponsor Neiman Marcus had all in attendance longing for 80 degree weather, strappy shoes and breezy, yet chic, attire.
Before the show there was light reception fare from Dean and Deluca, while fairies flitted around in their fragile costumes and tables dressed as elegantly as any of the guests in attendance.
The colors this Spring are glorious. The show started with a bohemian theme; moved to corals and shades of blue; on to a white wardrobe and stripes; and ended with accessories. I’ve already been thinking about what I have stored for spring and have many of the same shades waiting on me.
Interspersed during the show were vignettes from the popular Innovative Works by NC Dance Theater. I was brought to tears by the poignancy of the Treehugger vignette.
Emcee’ing the Matinee at the afternoon show was the ever fabulous T. Strong “StyleMayvin”. Her presence, and fashion tips for the upcoming season, was fantastic. She let us know that the wide leg pant was on it’s way in. Since I dress for body type, this was fab news for me. I was eyeing bone colored shoes in Neiman Marcus a few days ago and knowing they are the must have this spring? They just shot to the top of my list!
My fave outfit was the Missoni during the Coral and Blue (and featured below). While you don’t see a lot of the vibrant colors in the top, the bottom and back were beautifully interspersed in Missoni’s distinctive style.
Supporting the arts community is essential and I’m happy I’m able to share with my readers.
See you at the Ballet!
